An anti flooding device for use in horizontal pipes. The unit closes the pipeline automatically when backflow occurs.

Back flow from the public sewer system is mainly caused by:

• overall under-sizing of the public sewers
• high peak flows in stormwater sewers or combined sewers due to short but intense rainfall
• increase of surface water runoff due to new construction (growing territorial urbanization), causing greater volume of flow
• overflow due to peaks of simultaneous flow in built up areas
• malfunctions or blockages downstream from the grid

The typical situations that may lead to this problem are various and are related to the urban area involved.
Multi-flap backwater valves enrich the variety of anti-flooding products and offer a greater choice of security devices. They are used to increase the security in special risk situations e.g. a great number of rats in sanitary installations and/or the occurrence of frequent backflows.

The double backwater valves are devices in which the flaps are equipped with chromium – nickel protecting guards securing the flap and gasket against rats and its sliding down during sewage flow. It is a very important feature in places particularly exposed to rodents’ attempts to pass through.

Modern module construction of double flap backwater valves has numerous advantages which make them outstanding in the market. Devices have two independent protecting covers which are beneficial during back flow because the pressure affecting the first flap is not immediately transferred to the other. Double flap backwater valves are equipped with an innovative chromium-nickel lever guard which constitutes additional security.
